I've been a little disappointed with Sandisk's direction these past few months. It almost feels like they've abandoned their Sansa DAP line for this slotMusic silliness. Just recently, I discovered a trademark filed by Sandisk, signifying a new MP3 player in the works. It's called the "Sansa Tap". The term "Tap" could mean anything, but the first thing that came to mind was a touchscreen device. Just about every other company is making one, so I wouldn't be surprised if Sandisk jumped in as well. I'm not going to get my hopes up too high though. For all we know, this could be another screenless slotMusic player.

The application was filed since October, and is to be published for opposition tomorrow, March 3rd. After being published for opposition, other parties can file disputes with the terms used. That process can take a few months, so we may not see anything about this player until Spring or Summer, if not later.
