Well, like I say, if it had gapless, I'd be happy.
If it also came in 32GB, I'd be ecstatic.

But, to quote the Stones - you can't always get what you want...
bullet bloodycape on Thursday, July 24 (2008) 02:46PM
one thing about the curve you have to remember is, with Verzion(and a few others) you have to pay an extra fee for the Blackberry data plan to have to the phone, while with their other smartphones their plan is a pay as use a kb system(i.e. if you don't use data you don't get charged).

Yeah I would also take a Sony player in 32gb(mainly the A720 or A820) but add a voice recorder, and FM & I would be set.
bullet Step666 on Thursday, July 24 (2008) 12:42PM
And...?
bullet A.A. Fussy on Thursday, July 24 (2008) 05:34AM
I use a NWZ-A815- part of previous NWZ-A810 series, purchased my NWZ-A815 in June.
bullet Step666 on Thursday, July 24 (2008) 02:13AM
Yeah.
It's just a shame there isn't a 'whole package' player out there just now.

If the Sony did gapless and, if it weren't too much to ask, came in a 32GB version, I'd gladly sell one of my livers

Still, a reportedly exceptional DAP.
bullet Step666 on Thursday, July 24 (2008) 01:35AM
I'm leaning towards a Sony A820.
Though I must admit the lack of gapless playback is troubling me just a bit

I hate the forced structure of iTunes, as well, though I'm OK for now--especially after discovering/becoming addicted to podcasts.

And the Dare is a top contender--along w/ the Blackberry Curve.....

Damnable decisions....

BTW, Step--whatcha gettin' next?
bullet Step666 on Thursday, July 24 (2008) 01:23AM
Mate, I feel your pain with iTunes - one of the things I'm looking forward to most when I get my new purchase finalised is being free of it.
bullet Connect on Thursday, July 24 (2008) 12:35AM
Really? Media Monkey works with my iPod touch...

bullet dap_pad on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 11:29PM
Well the ones that I've tried don't namely MediaMonkey and WinAmp. The iPod Touch and iPhone have unique file structures it seems.
bullet zip22 on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 09:00PM
pretty sure the other ipod compatible programs work wth the touch, too.
bullet Connect on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 08:26PM
So I got an iPod touch rather than exchanging my Zune 80 for another one... I know, Zune and iPod touch - very original combination. So far things have been great, except for iTunes, which I hate.

Saijin, I'm the same, but the idea of a smartphone (and I'm hardly excluding a Blackberry) has its appeal, too.

And that Blackjack 2 looks promising......

I hate/love gadget addiction.
bullet Saijin_Naib on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 07:14AM
I nearly got the Centro because I always enjoyed PalmOS, but I deferred once I realized that I had to ask the sales rep how to place a call. I need a phone that is a phone first and foremost.
bullet Step666 on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 05:14AM
@iain1237: I never said it was a perfect list.

Whilst you can select the OS, features like A2DP, a memory card slot etc from the drop-down boxes, to search for a QWERTY keyboard, you have to type 'QWERTY' into the 'free text' search box, so there was always a risk it wouldn't find everything.

Anyway, here's the Blackjack 2 for you: [Linky]

All too true, I think. I played around w/one @ the store and I think I could get used to the small keys (they're rounded and protrude enough so I wouldn't be mashing 2 at once).

But the Dare--she calls to me--no pun intended, honest!
bullet bloodycape on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 12:34AM
the dare on the other hand has a nice screen, camera and interface in the short time i used it in store. The haptic feedback is a plus. I didn't like the fact it has no hardware keyboard, and wifi.
bullet bloodycape on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 12:30AM
Centro has support for third party software, and java and I think even youtube. I think they also just added SDHC support to it recently and it may support a wifi card. The down side it for some the keyboard is small, the screen could be better and the OS is old(hasn't really changed since 2001 or something just minor updates).
bullet BBD on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 12:16AM
That should read fifty and one hundred, respectively....
bullet BBD on Wednesday, July 23 (2008) 12:15AM
Nice deal, indeed!

I can get a new Palm Centro for $50 or an LG Voyager for $100.......

Hmmmm.......
bullet Sternfan91 on Tuesday, July 22 (2008) 11:45PM
finally got my clip
it's ok with the X3i's, but I got it as I was going away, so I'm yet to test it with my cans(Equation RP-21's). After using my D2 for so long, I'm not CRAZY about the Clip like some people are. but then again, I paid 20$ for a 2gb Clip, so I'm not gunna whine
