Introduction

The market for hard disk-based MP3 players seems to be slowly drying up - gunning for its slice of the pie are a new breed of high-capacity flash players offering from 2 to 8 GB of storage, enough for many users music collections. The latest is the Amigo, a product of Best Buy's house brand Insignia. With its affordable price (now just $ 79 for the 1 GB model), easy availability (hundreds of Best Buy stores in the United States), and relative simplicity, the Amigo takes aim at the beginner section of the market.
