Vorbis is an open standard and achieves better compression than mp3 at the same bitrates, leading to better sounding and smaller files. Downside is increased CPU load to process it.

Lossless on a portable is nearly completely pointless... but to each their own.

and btw, how does Vorbis really make the Clip better? I though Vorbis is for making files smaller? I'd rather have .FLAC.
