hmm so they actually have it available, not pre-order? I wonder if they're not exporting them yet though. Or maybe you can special order from J&R or Amazon? It just seem if it was available they would say so. Guess we'll have to wait-n-see.

Since Karma is still chugging, I think I'm going to hold out for the 12 GB. Either way, I might bump into you at J&R just to get a feel for it. (I work in Jersey City)

Oh no ! I hope you're not right ?! They changed the 15 GB version for a 12 GB version? I thought there was first a 8 Gb and 15 gb version, THEN they ADDED another 12 GB version... Damn.

Well, since they 'introduced' the 12 gig version there's been no mention of the 15gig version anymore. They even changed the web page to '8 and 12 gig versions' The way it's looking now, I may not even be able to buy the 12 gig version right away.

28 . 3 mW (L ) + 28 .3 mW ( R) , 16 ohm
(0. 673 V Trekstor Vibez ver 0.938 V Rio Karma )

Upon first startup of the device, the user will be asked if he is in France. If the user answers that question with yes, the device will limit the output volume to 100dB

So it has less power than the Karma. But is the output low?

Also, I don't understand what "(0. 673 V Trekstor Vibez ver 0.938 V Rio Karma )" means. Is that SNR?

Shure E 2 + Rio Karma ver. Shure E 2 + Trekstor Vibez

Shure E 2 Specifications:

Sensitivity (at 1 kHz): 105 dB SPL/mW
Impedance (at 1 kHz) 16 ohms

1 mW (=0.126 Volt ) = SPL/mW ( Shure E 2 =105 dB )+ 0 dB
2 mW (0.176 V ) = (105 dB SPL) + 3 dB
3 mW (0. 219 V ) = (105 dB SPL) +4.77 dB
4 mW (0. 252 V) = (SPL ) + 6 dB
5 mW (0.282 V ) =... +6.99 dB
6 mW (0.309 V ) = .... +7.78 dB
7 mW (0.334 V) = .....+8. 45 dB
8 mW (0.357 V) = .....+9.03 dB
9 mW (0.379 V) = .....+9.54 dB
10mW (0.4 V ) = .....+10 dB

11mW (0.419 V) = +10. 41 dB
12mW (0.438 V) = +10. 79 dB
14mW (0.473 V) = +11. 46 dB
15mW (0.489 V) = +11.76 dB
18mW (0.536 V) = +12.55 dB
20mW (0.56 V) = +13.01 dB
25mW (0. 632V) = +13.98 dB
28.3 mW (0. 673 V) +14.52 dB >>> SPL + 14.52dB > 105+ 14.52 dB = 119.52 dB >> Trekstor Vibez
30mW (0. 692 V) = +15.77 dB
40mW (0.80 V ) = +16.02 dB
47.5 mW (0.871V) = +16.77dB
55.5 mW (0.938 Volt ) = SPL +17.40 dB > 105 dB + 17.4 =122.4 dB ( 16 ohm ) >> Rio Karma

Same calculation for a 50 Ohm headphones ( Sennheiser HD-595 ) can:

Vibez > SPL (HD-595 ) + 9. 54 dB
Karma > SPL (HD-595) +12 .45 dB

No, that's probably the (peak) output voltage: 0.673V for the Vubez versus 0.938V for the Karma. Rudimentary measurement of my Samsung Z5 shows 0.2V, so the Vibez should be fine.

My years and years of now-nearly-forgotten German language instruction tell me the 12GB Vibez on that website is not yet available. They are indeed offering pre-orders only.

At least they didn't drop it altogether. I just wish they would release both, at the same time, everywhere........now.
