Ah, good to know. Wonder what the edit was over?
In any case, I do appreciate that I was being divergent, but as I said, only to make note of another potential OS. Also, the Jet isn't running on Bada, it is running over Nucleos RTOS with Dolfin browser and TouchUI. Bada is supposed to have hardware 3d accel for games. What about Access Linux Co's Else? [Linky] I really like the UI concept and I think that Access Linux could do nice things with it. They have the rights to both BeOS and PalmOS. Could potentially be interesting, no? And I keep hearing reports stating that Copy/Paste will make it into the later revisions of WinPho7 and that they API documentation allows for multi-tasking and copy/paste. I'm not really clear on the "officially official" state of what is going on there. Besides, they plan on keeping 6.5 Enterprise/Classic around right? I wonder what the hardware path for that will be.... Step666
@Saijin: yeah, looks like the page has been completely stripped down since I posted the link.
This is the older version: [Linky] As for the point about Bada not being open, that wasn't in response to you, that followed on from something Alcade said. And I'm not trying to suggest you're not welcome here, I just think that an actual discussion like the one we're now having is preferable to disjointed comments. Step666
I wouldn't personally say I have been unfair in my dismissal of Bada.
I've used a Samsung Jet and all that Bada adds to that is native application support. Thanks but no - tried it; wasn't impressed; haven't seen anything to suggest that Samsung are going to offer anything worth getting excited over... Saijin_Naib
In any case, I'm dis-involving myself from this discussion from here on out. My input isn't welcome.

I'm not seeing any criticisms on that link. Has it been removed?
I never said it was more free, I only said it remains another option that is little explored/discussed. Step666
It's not really adding anything to the discussion though, you were merely stating your preference.
As for Bada offering more freedom, that sounds like a load of bull - it's not an open source OS and it's limited to one manufacturer, hardly comparable to the likes of Maemo/MeeGo, or even Android or Symbian. Also, whilst I am in no way vouching for the accuracy of these allegations, if the criticisms levelled here are true, it makes Bada no better than WinMo/WinPho: [Linky] alcalde
I'll agree with Saijin... Bada and Maeo/Moblin/Meego do seem more geared toward freedom for the developers and users rather than for the control of the carriers. Android locks the developer out of lower-level functions, and I don't know much about WebOS. There's an explosion of phone OSes lately as phones and PCs begin to converge, and it would be a shame if the market consolidated around one candidate before all the options have arrived and been fully evaluated.

When people are talking about the current status and progress of the upcoming Mobile OSs I find that it is relevant.
In the face of some the rather... limiting? decisions Microsoft have placed upon WP7 I find that it is looking more attractive. Android progresses slowly, but its party cloud based service nature makes it unappealing. Symbian I think has come to a sort of standstill which is unfortunate. WebOS is pretty fantastic but ATT appears to be dragging its feet on adopting it for some reason, and will likely cripple it upon arrival like they did with Android. Its not that I like it so much, its just that it is another alternative that is pretty much placed by the wayside per default. I don't think anyone would even give it half a chance. I'm just trying to remind people that it exists and from what has been said thus far, remains fairly unrestricted and may in fact turn out to be competitive or at least competent. Step666
@Saijin: seriously though, I wasn't trying to be insulting, it's just that you seem determined to bring it up when people are talking about something else.
You like it's that's great, but what's it got to do with anything? Step666
The ban on removable memory sounds like crap IMO.
Given that Engadget have first-hand statements from MS, voice recordings even, regarding multi-tasking and copy & paste, if the memory card thing were real, then they would have a statement about that too if it were real. But, no, instead of coming from a major website, it's from 'Phone Scoop', whoever they are. As for the multi-tasking, it's not that an app closes as soon as you go back to the menu, a la the iPhone, it's put into a suspended state. What MS are telling developers though is to assume that it gets killed because the OS will be able to do so without warning if resources become scarce. First-hand apps will be authorised for full multi-tasking and I can see MS very quickly expanding the list to cover third-party apps from major contributors.
