That Sony you linked from their outlet store(the first one you linked), look fairly nice and the price is right too.

All I know is that they're supposed to sound really good - mono or not.

Mono speakers, whilst not ideal, do sometimes sound pretty good.
My Sony Ericsson MBS-100 sounds surprisingly good, despite being mono and bluetooth.

Apparently the Altec Lansing In-Motion range are about as good as you can get from a portable speaker.

They're not too ridiculously priced to the best of my knowledge but I'm not sure what your budget is.
